We had another great activity week last week, Trampolining at Tramp2Lean, Lazer Tag at Quasar and a trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, where surprisingly we came back with the same amount of young people we left with.

Last week we joined Affinity, Double Six and Rotherham-Blackburn Youth Club's for more BGCSY funded activities.

Tuesday we went indoor climbing, Wednesday was Swimming (you'll have to take my word for that as I was in the pool so there are no photos) and Ice Skating at Doncaster Dome, and then Thursday was the big one... The Great HBGC Bake-Off!!  Competition was particularly fierce in this year's team event, and in the end the judges decided they were all delicious, and more time (and a fresh pot of tea) was required for further analysis before deciding on a winner.

During the November half term we once agin took part in BGCSY's Activity programme, along with young people from other youth club's in South Yorkshire.

Tuesday we went go-karting, Wednesday was their annual Indoor Sports Tiurnament and on Thursday we went to Centretainment for Adventure Golf and Bowling.

Well done to everyone who joined us the BGCSY activities this summer, a great time was had by all.  See photos in the gallery.  

So week 1 we started at Lightwater Valley theme park, then went canoeing at Rother Valley followed by the water park and finished with outdoor lazer tag.

Week 2 was climbing at Stanage Edge with the guys from the Foundry, mountain biking round Ladybower and then we finished the summer with a big game of rounders.

Hi everyone

Youth club is on it's summer break now, so thanks for another great year, have a fantastic summer and I'll see you in September (see here for opening date)

The activity programme is still running over the summer, most of the trips are full now but there are 1 or 2 spaces if you want to get in contact.

March the 21st was BGCSY's annual Presentation night, held at Double Six Youth Club in Woodseats, where awards were handed out for sporting achievements, youth work accomplishments and volunteering excellence/long service.  Awards for Hillsborough BGC were a little thin on the ground this year as you'll see from the photos, but whilst I kept the capacity crowd on the edge of their seats, Liam picked up the 'Young Volunteer' award for the second year running, a thoroughly deserved accolade given his commitment and importance to the junior club over the past 12 months.  Well done Liam.
